What happens when you like the remix better than the original? Is that a bad thing? Who gets the credit for taking it over the top–to “better than good”? What if the remix ends up getting more air time? Worst case scenario (for the artist): What if people think the remix is the original?

Here are a few remixes I personally think are better than the originals.

Tove Lo – Habits (Stay High) – Hippie Sabotage Remix

Major Lazer – Original Don – Flosstradamus Remix

Ellie Goulding – Lights – Bassnectar Remix

Radiohead – Talk Show Host – Nellee Hooper Remix

Destiny’s Child – No, No, No Part 2 – Wyclef Jean Remix ft Wyclef Jean

I don’t think I have written about this type of music before, but I’d like to share this song that

a) makes you want to dance–even if you’re sitting down

b) makes an excellent exercise song

c) is a great remix

d) could lyrically relate to your life…possibly

I could do a whole post of great remixes. I’ll have to remind myself to do that in the future.

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty details. This song is by Gotye. My cousin and I were wondering how to pronounce his name, so we looked it up and proceeded to laugh for the next few minutes:

From Wikipedia–“Wouter “Wally” De Backer (born 21 May 1980), also known professionally by his stage name Gotye, (pronounced Go-te-yae), is a Belgian-Australian[1] multi-instrumental musician and singer-songwriter. The name “Gotye” is derived from “Gaultier” (or “Gautier” or “Gauthier”,) the French equivalent of “Wouter” (“Walter” in English.)”

Like Jean Paul Gaultier (the designer)!

Now you’re smarter thanks to me (and mostly Wikipedia).

Okay, so here is the remix done by 4FRNT. I’ll also include the original below the remix. ENJOY!

Remix: Feel the urge to dance. Go ahead. Feel it. Make sure you watch/hear the original, too.

Original:not as powerful/makes you feel more sad rather than empowered as the remix does. Interesting video and still music you could listen to on repeat.
